Rhythm of Time Poster - Poem composed by Bobby Sands, IRA Volunteer, who died on Hunger Strike in 1981. This poster gives the complete version of the poem and depicts images from it.

FRANCE.
In the Spring of 1981 I wore a black armband to school each day. I wanted people to ask me “why?” so that I could tell them about Bobby Sands, and then other hunger strikers.
Now, 30 years later, I am still moved deeply and inspired by those Irish heroes at Long Kesh.
I followed the hunger strikers back in 81, hoping they achieved their demands before they perished. Alas, it was not to be. I remember exactly where I was, the chair I sat in, the picture on the wall, everything, when I heard of his passing. For me, it was like the Kennedy assassinations, MLK and 9/11, indelibly etched on your mind.
