Solidarity actions in Ireland in support of the Palestine Action prisoners in England have continued—the latest being a picket by several hundred people on the Andersonstown Road, Belfast, demanding that the British government intervene and meet with the prisoners’ representatives. People have also protested outside the British Embassy in Dublin.
Pat Sheehan, who survived the 1981 hunger strike in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh, and who is now a Sinn Féin MLA in Belfast, was interviewed for Radio Onda d’Urto, a community-based radio based in Brescia in Italy and can be accessed here.

Pat Sheehan MLA (L); Irish-language activist, Jake Mac Siacais; Mairead Farrell, TD (R) joined hundreds today in a West Belfast picket in support of the political prisoners of Palestine Action on hunger strike in English jails.
During the week Sinn Fein Presiden Mary Lou McDonald TD wrote to the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer urging him to intervene to address the life-threatening situation facing the prisoners on hunger strike, calling it ‘a serious humanitarian crisis’ and pressing for direct engagement to resolve the protest before someone dies.
